That evening, Cronus had combed and greased his hair just so. He put on his best leather jacket and made cuffs on the bottoms of his pants. He shined his boots. He took one last look in the full-length mirror.

"Pretty damn sharp, Ampora." He grinned. Cronus couldn't have been happier. He was so ready for his big date.

"No 'ffense, but I don't really wvanna go out wvith a wvriggler. Not sayin' you have to leave, but ah..." Cronus sighed. He didn't know how to do this.

"I guess I just thought things would wvork out differently this time. Silly me."

A wriggler... Ai had never heard that phrase before. How could he tell she was a bug already? Had she mentioned it online before? Well... that didn't really make sense, because if that were true, why would he agree to go on a date with her to begin with! Ai's eyebrows lowered and her frown deepened.

She paused for a while after Cronus spoke before she replied, "What do you mean you thought it was gonna work out differently? Have you accidentally met a lot of Pikmin?"

"Vwhat's a Pikmin?" Cronus asked, but didn't give Ai any time to reply. "Nyeh. Guess I just meant that even bein' so sensitive and carin' as I am, I can't seem to land a little action, if you knovw what I mean."

He paused to look at Ai, half-expecting her to walk away right then and there. "I vwouldn't expect you to knovw vwhat I mean, actually."

How rude! Maybe Ai did know what he meant!

"I do! I get a lot of action at my school!" she replied, excitedly. "When the whole school flooded, I went to my first hotel- and it was a love hotel- and my best friend and I built a blanket fort!" Pause. "How's that for action? HMMM!?"

Cronus burst out laughing. "Ah--haha, yeah, I'm sure you get tons of action, kid."

Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all. The girl was funny, and pretty cute, in a non-sexual way. This may be the first--and only--time Cronus was endeared to someone that he didn't want to bang.

He turned to Ai. "Say, forgivwe me for changin' the subject, but wvould you like to hear a song I wvrote?"

Well, at least he agreed. Ai laughed, too.

"What! Yes! That sounds great!" she shouted. "Did you know I know how to draw, too?"

"Yeah?" Cronus smirked. "Vwell..."

He reached behind the couch (because he has a couch in his hive??? ok) and brought forth his guitar.

"...draw somethin' inspired by this."

He began to play a lovely(?), twanging melody.
